Frequently Asked Questions

The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends choosing high-quality programming and apps, and limiting children’s screen time to a length of time that is appropriate for their age.

Their guidelines include avoiding screen time for children under 18 months of age, limiting screen time to 1 hour per day for children over the age of 2, and building screen-free times into your routine (such as during meals and before bed).

While screen time is fine when used in moderation, screen-free time is beneficial to children in many ways, including higher quality sleep, improved social skills, greater creativity, improved focus and self-regulation, and stronger family bonds. Screen time should be balanced with other activities, such as the ones suggested in this article.
