How to Use This Printable

To use this printable, print it out on regular printer paper and encourage your child to count all of the matching St Patty’s-themed items. Once they have found every instance of a particular image, have them write down the number of items they counted on the provided line.

This activity can be adapted for various age groups. If you are printing it out for younger children, have them cross out each item as they count it to make it easier to keep track of which pictures they have already counted.

As for older kids, to make this activity more challenging, encourage them to rely solely on their memory when counting the items.

For your convenience, I have also provided an answer sheet. This means that once your child is done counting all of the pictures and has written a number on each of the provided lines, they will be able to double-check whether their answers are correct.

How to Print This Activity

After you have downloaded the PDF file to your computer, simply print it on Letter-sized (8.5 x 11 inches) paper.

You can also print this activity on A4 paper, but since the file was designed to be printed on US Letter paper, you will need to adjust the “Scale to Fit” setting on your printer to ensure that none of the printable area is being cut off.

How to Make This Printable Reusable

If you want to avoid having to print out this activity again and again, there are a couple different methods you can use in order to make it reusable.

The first is to laminate the page using a thermal laminator or self-laminating sheets. We love our laminator and are constantly finding new ways to use it!

If you don’t have a laminator at home, you can also use plastic page protectors or dry erase pockets. This will allow your child to cross out the images and write down their answers using dry erase markers, then wipe the sheet clean and store it for future use.

Who Is This Activity For?

This fun game is perfect for both younger and older kids who are looking for ways to pass the time. Younger kids can cross out the images as they count them, while older kids can keep track in their heads for an added challenge.

Feel free to take this printable with you on road trips or use it in your next classroom party! There are lots of fun ways you can use it to entertain your kids.

Why Are I Spy Activities Beneficial for Kids?

I Spy printables aren’t just fun—they’re also a great way to help kids practice their counting skills, build their working memory and enhance their visual discrimination skills.

Being able to recognize visual details in a picture will help kids discriminate between the different letters of the alphabet once they are old enough to learn how to read.

I Spy activities can also help young kids work on their language skills as they identify the names of all of the St Patty’s themed items pictured in the worksheet.

Can I Use This Printable in My Classroom?

Absolutely! I love supporting fellow educators, so classroom use is allowed for almost all of my free printables. Feel free to include this activity page in your lesson plans if you’re looking for a fun St Patrick’s Day activity that will help your students work on their basic math skills.
