How to Print This Card

After you download the PDF file to your phone or computer, print out the card of your choice on US Letter-sized paper (8.5 x 11 inches) and hand it over to your child so they can color it in.

You can also print the cards on A4 paper by adjusting the “Scale to Fit” setting on your printer and making sure nothing is being cut off. But as these cards have been designed to fit perfectly inside a standard A7 envelope, know that adjusting the print scale will change the card dimensions, and you may need to use a different type of envelope.

How to Use Your Coloring Cards

1. Print Card

Once you have downloaded the file, open it on your phone or computer and print the card of your choice on a sheet of Letter-sized paper or cardstock.

Note: While you can use regular paper if that’s what you have on hand, I really recommend using cardstock. It’s a lot sturdier and because it’s thicker, it will prevent the ink from bleeding through if your child decides to color the card with markers.

2. Color Card

Use Mom’s favorite colors to fill in the designs using crayons, pencils or markers.

I stuck with pinks, reds and purples, but my preschooler had fun using gold and silver metallic pencils to make the hearts shimmer. Don’t be afraid to get creative and use other craft materials like paint or glitter!

3. Cut Out Card

Use scissors to cut along the lines. You can also use a paper trimmer if you happen to have one at home, but this is totally optional, and scissors will work just fine.

4. Fold Card

Fold the card along the line in the middle. The cards measure a total of 10×7 inches, which makes it 5×7 inches when folded—the perfect size to fit inside a standard A7 envelope.

If you don’t want to fold the card, you can also just cut out the front of the card that contains the heart designs, and write a message on the back of the card instead of folding it.

5. Write Message

Once the colored in card has been folded in half, write a special message on the inside. Then, place it in an A7 envelope and either mail it or hand-deliver it on Mother’s Day.
