JUMP TO…
Easter egg hunts are one of our children’s favourite Easter traditions. But if your kids are anything like ours, they probably already have lots of sweet treats leftover from Halloween and Christmas, and the last thing they need is even more candy.
The good news is that there are lots of good options for families who want to skip the jelly beans and chocolate eggs, but who still want their kids to get a fun surprise when they crack open their eggs.
If that’s you, make sure you save this list of non-candy Easter egg filler ideas and use it to make your next Easter hunt extra special!
Best Fillable Easter Eggs
If you’re planning on filling your Easter eggs with fun treats, I recommend choosing Easter eggs that are 3.15 inches in height. We used the ones pictured on the far left below, which also feature cute designs like flowers, stripes and polka dots.
We liked those particular eggs because not only were they a great size for hiding treats and toys, but they also had a strong seal and felt sturdier than the ones we had previously bought from Walmart (pictured in the centre).
That being said, if you have plain Walmart Easter eggs at home that are 3.15 inches in height, those will work just fine. Just avoid the smaller 2.4 inch ones (pictured on the right) as you may find it difficult to fit anything inside them.
