How to Use (for Different Age Groups)

This activity can be adapted to better suit your child’s needs and stage of development:

  • Younger kids: If you are doing this activity with a toddler, there is no need to use pencils or markers right away—to start with, simply ask them to follow the lines with their index finger to practice their fine motor skills and coordination.
  • Older kids: When doing this activity with older preschoolers, have them trace over the dashed lines using some sort of writing instrument like a crayon, pencil or marker. They can even color in the designs when they’re done tracing over the lines!

Printing Instructions

Once you have downloaded all of the PDF files to your computer, print the pages on US Letter-sized paper (8.5 x 11 inches) in order to use them.

To print the pages on A4 paper, but you’ll need to adjust the “Scale to Fit” setting on your printer to ensure that none of the printable area gets cut off.

How to Make These Worksheets Reusable

Want to reuse these tracing sheets again and again? Try laminating the pages using a thermal laminator or self-laminating sheets, or placing them inside plastic page protectors or dry erase pockets.

Once the pages have been covered with plastic, your child will be able to trace the lines using dry erase markers, then wipe them clean and save them for future use.
