One of these years, I’d love to take a cheesy photo of our family wearing Christmas sweaters and mail it to all our friends and relatives in the form of a holiday greeting card.

I may manage to convince my husband someday. But since this year won’t be the one, I figure the next best thing is to get the kids to colour in some Christmas cards themselves.

If you’re looking to change things up this year and send sweet handmade cards to your friends and relatives, print out these free colouring sheets and give them to your kids to colour!

Your kids will love them, and it’s also an easy activity for you to set up since you won’t need to be actively involved in most of the process.

All you’ll need to do is download the PDF, print out the holiday cards and let your little ones have fun with them—giving you more time for all the other things you need to do during the holidays.

How to Use Your Christmas Card Colouring Pages

1. Print Cards

Once you have downloaded the PDF, open it on your phone or computer and print the three Christmas card templates on three separate sheets of Letter-sized paper or cardstock.

Note: While you can technically print out these holiday cards on regular printer paper, I really recommend using cardstock because it’s a lot sturdier. It will also prevent the ink from bleeding through if your child decides to colour in the cards with markers.

2. Colour Cards

Colour in the drawings using crayons, pencils, markers or whatever else you have on hand.

Feel free to experiment use metallic markers or pencils for added fun. The only thing I wouldn’t recommend using are pastels and other similar mediums that are likely to smudge the inside of the envelope.

3. Cut Out Cards

Use scissors to cut along the lines. You can also use a paper trimmer if you happen to have one at home, but this is totally optional and scissors will work just fine.

4. Fold Cards

Fold the cards along the line in the middle.

5. Write Message

Once the coloured in cards have been folded in half, write a message on the inside. Then, place them in A7 envelopes and mail them to your friends and relatives!

These Christmas colouring cards are a great way to say, “Merry Christmas” to your loved ones while giving them a keepsake that they’ll cherish when the kids are all grown up. Our kids loved colouring their own holiday cards!
