What better way to say “Happy Father’s Day” than with a homemade card colored in by the little ones? This free printable coloring card is a fun, low-prep way to get toddlers, preschoolers and school-aged kids involved in making Father’s Day special for Daddy or Grandpa!

Lately, my Facebook feed has been flooded with DIY Father’s Day card ideas to make with the kids.

I love seeing all the creative ideas that other bloggers have come up with. But I can see how it could get overwhelming… especially if you don’t consider yourself crafty, or if you don’t have a lot of time to devote to making your own greeting cards.

If that sounds like you, then you’ll love this free coloring printable that I created specifically for Father’s Day.

Like my free Mother’s Day coloring card, this one requires no creativity or fancy supplies. Simply download, print and color, and you’ll have a beautiful Father’s Day card in no time flat!

And if ever you happen to be a teacher, that’s fine too! I’m always happy to support fellow educators, so feel free to print off as many copies as you like so that your students have something to bring home to Daddy.

This foldable card measures a total of 10×7 inches, which makes it 5×7 inches when folded. This means that once the card is colored in and folded in half, it will fit perfectly inside a standard A7 envelope.

You can then choose to either deliver it by hand or send it by mail to surprise to Daddy, Uncle or Grandpa!

How to Use Your Printable Coloring Card

1. Print Card

Once you have downloaded the file, open it on your phone or computer and print the PDF Father’s Day card template on a sheet of Letter-sized paper or cardstock.

Note: While you can use regular printer paper if that’s what you have on hand, I recommend using cardstock. It’s a lot sturdier and because it’s thicker, it will prevent the ink from bleeding through if your child decides to color the card with markers.

2. Color Card

Color in the drawings using crayons, pencils, markers or whatever else you have on hand. I decided to go with “superhero” colors, but I’m sure your child will love the chance to pick the colors themselves!

3. Cut Out Card

Use scissors to cut along the lines. You can also use a paper trimmer if you happen to have one at home, but this is totally optional and scissors will work just fine.

4. Fold Card

Fold the card along the line in the middle.

5. Write Message

Once the colored in card has been folded in half, write a message on the inside. Then, place the finished coloring card in an A7 envelope and either mail it or hand-deliver it on Father’s Day!

This printable coloring card is a great way to say “Happy Father’s Day” to Dad (or Grandpa) while giving him a keepsake that she’ll cherish when the kids are all grown up. Our kids loved coloring their own Father’s Day cards for their father and grandfather!
