Love oobleck? This cranberry sauce slime is a fun way to repurpose leftover cranberry sauce for sensory play, and because it’s made with edible ingredients, it's safe for both younger and older kids.
Pour ½ cup of cranberry sauce into a medium mixing bowl, and stir in ½ cup of cornstarch, mixing with a spoon until fully combined.
Gently stir in a bit more cornstarch, one tablespoon at a time, until the mixture gets more difficult to stir and has a consistency that is solid when you apply pressure with a spoon, but oozes back into place like a liquid when you stop. If it becomes too stiff, add a small amount of water to help it reach the right consistency.

Notes
1. Storage instructions: This activity should be viewed as one-time-use, but you may be able to extend its life by covering it in plastic wrap and storing it in an airtight container in the fridge, then adding water to restore its consistency before play.2. Using jellied cranberry sauce: This recipe uses whole berry cranberry sauce, but you may be able to replace it with jellied cranberry sauce if you thin it out with water.3. Helpful tips:
Add cornstarch slowly: After you add the initial ½ cup of cornstarch, create the perfect consistency by adding no more than 1 tablespoon at a time and stirring it in completely before adding more.
Stir gently: Combine the ingredients by stirring slowly and gently as the mixture thickens and starts to put up a resistance.
